The older you get, the more conscious you should start to get the food you’re putting in your body. You’ve grown up on a diet filled with junk and processed foods. The amount of water you should consume in a day varies from person to person and depends a lot on your activity level. Don’t think that if you aren’t active, you aren’t losing water so you get to drink less of it. The people that aren’t active need to be even more conscious about drinking water because it can be easy for them to forget.

Number of Meals

There are going to be people out there that tell you if you want to maintain a certain level healthiness you need to consume a larger amount of meals a day.

Don’t listen to these claims.

The thing that truly matters is what you eat and the number of calories you take in. The number of meals you eat isn’t going to assure that your body is healthier.

When you eat more meals throughout the day, the only thing you are going to do is probably speed up your metabolism a little but this could also lead to overeating. Even overeating when you’re eating healthy foods can be a negative thing to put your body through.

If you can help it, don’t focus on how many meals you’re eating as long as you are getting the number of calories you need with the healthy food.

There is a process called intermittent fasting in which you only eat for a small time frame in your day and during the rest of the 24 hour period, you aren’t eating any food. Like many other dieting methods, this method has been proven to help people lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle as well.

So again, the number of meals you consume in a day does not matter in the long run of things as long as you are consuming the proper foods in the right amounts.

Cut Down on Carbs and Sugars

Think about every meal you’ve eaten today, you’ve probably consumed quite a bit of carbs, whether that be bread or some kind of pasta. As delicious as these foods are, eating too much of them are going to harm you in the long run.

Yes, they can definitely fit into your clean eating lifestyle but this is something you need to really watch when it comes to the amount you are consuming. Carbs are going to eventually convert into fat when it gets processed in your body unless you are able to burn it off almost immediately. For those of you that think that can do that, it’s a near-impossible task.

This is part of the reason why a lot of health professionals say the journey to a better body starts in the kitchen.

Sugars and added sugars are something you need to significantly cut back on as well. Like carbs, sugars are going to turn into fat when they are processed by your body. This makes them much harder to burn off through physical activity.

So, for those that love to eat stuff like fruits, you need to be careful. Although fruits don’t have added sugars, they have plenty of natural sugars that can cause a problem for you if you aren’t careful. These low sugar fruits are going to be good when you need that quick sugar fix.
