You are probably going to need to cut out most of what you were eating before. All of your eating habits are going to change in some way.

Because of this change in your eating habits, you are more than likely going to stop snacking. Most of the foods we love to snack on are nowhere near keto friendly. That is a hard pill to swallow.

However, if you are one of those people that love to snack on something throughout the day but you’re restricted because of the keto diet, don’t panic. There are plenty of keto snacks out there that will allow you to stay on the diet and keep up with your macros.

Also, if you’re a person that is always on the move, you may not have time to go home and whip up a decent meal. Your only option is to snack on something, but you need the proper options if you want to stick to the ketogenic diet.

10 Keto Snacks When You’re on the Go

You may not always want a simple snack like these keto fruits because you’re looking for something with more substance.

Here are some keto snacks that are easy to make or have by your side at all times to allow your body to stay in ketosis.

Pork Rinds

With zero carbs, this is one of the best snacks to have when you’re on a keto diet, or even just on the go. You can find them at almost any grocery store and they are always cheap to buy.

You’ll never have to break the bank and the flavor you get with these is always satisfying.

I understand that pork rinds may seem like an unhealthy snack, but when you’re on a keto diet, they can really help you when it comes to staying in ketosis. You’re not going to be consuming any carbs or sugars so your body can stay in its fat burning process.

The only problem that you may come across is with the flavored pork rinds. Make sure you read the nutrition facts because sometimes the seasonings that are added may make the pork rinds go from keto friendly to regular unhealthy snack.

An added bonus of pork rinds is that they can act as the perfect breading for anything when you are cooking in the kitchen.

String cheese is a childhood favorite. If you didn’t have string cheese growing up as a kid then I feel slightly sorry for you.

Yes, it’s just a piece of cheese but for some reason, it’s fun to eat. You get a sense of enjoyment from eating this. There has never been a moment where I’ve eaten string cheese and not had a smile on my face.

There are many different kinds of string cheese out there, some easier to eat than others, but they are all great for your keto diet.

String cheese can be found anywhere cheese is sold. You can carry them on your person literally anywhere you go. They can comfortably fit in your pocket and be eaten at any time, especially when you’re on the go.

Avocados

Avocados are a superfood that has so many benefits not just for a keto diet.

They aren’t as easy to eat as the other snacks above but they are still easy to take on the go. You just need to cut them beforehand and take them in some kind of container then be on your way.

This superfood can get a little more on the expensive side depending on where you live, but they are always worth it.

If you really care about your health then you’ll incorporate avocados into your diet somehow. They only provide you with health benefits. If you’re willing to take the few minutes it takes to cut and slice an avocado, it can be the perfect snack to get you through the day.

Hard Boiled Eggs

If you’re wanting a snack that will give you a lot of protein with zero carbs, then eggs are the way to go. However, if you’re looking for eggs as a snack, making them scrambled or over-easy probably isn’t the best way to do it. Hard boiled is the way to go.

Yes, this takes a little bit of cooking but it can easily be done while you’re getting ready for work.

The hardest part is going to be taking the shell off the eggs once they’re done cooking and even that shouldn’t take much of your time.

Having hard boiled eggs is great as a snack because they can easily hold you over for your next meal. They will also help you with your body’s fat loss process.

Kale Chips

If you are a fan of kale, then kale chips are going to be the perfect snack for you whether you’re on the go or relaxing at home.

Kale chips are exactly what they sound like. It’s kale cooked to the point where it is crispy and sometimes lightly seasoned for a bit more flavor.

Many people that love to snack prefers to have something crunchy. Well, kale chips are the way to go. There are some places that sell kale chips, but the best way to get something you really want is to make them yourselves. They aren’t difficult to make and don’t take much time at all, depending on how crispy you like your chips.

Beef Jerky

Beef jerky is a great snack for anybody on the go. They are typically very low in carbohydrates, but it’s very important that you check the nutrition facts. There are many over-the-shelf brands of beef jerky that have a lot more additives that’ll greatly raise the number of carbs in it.

Something else you need to be aware of is the salt content. Some beef jerky is extremely salty.

Yes, when you’re on a keto diet you need to make sure you can get your salt wherever you can, but there is such thing as having too much salt. This could dehydrate you and cause a slight problem with your body trying to get into ketosis.

Pepperonis

Yes, pepperonis. They aren’t only good for being a topping on pizzas.

You can think of pepperonis as being similar to beef jerky. They will give you fat and protein and are low in carbs but some kinds will have almost too much salt. So again, it’s important to read the nutritional facts so you know exactly what you’re consuming.

If you feel like pairing this snack with something else, like string cheese, that would be perfectly fine and acceptable. That may even be a preferred way to eat this snack.

Olives

Cream cheese may be the highest ranking cheese of all cheeses, that are in a reasonable price range. It can go with so many other foods and make it even more delicious.

For purposes of staying with a keto diet, combining cream cheese with celery is beautiful. Having the crunchiness of the celery and the creaminess of the cheese makes for an amazing snack for when you’re in a hurry and on the go.

These snacks are all keto friendly and are perfect for you when you’re busy and don’t have much time to sit and actually enjoy a meal.
